Travel Guide Lenskie Stolby (Ленские Столбы)

A grandiose natural site, probably the most famous in Yakutia. The columns of the Lena are located 170 km from Yakutsk. On the right bank of the central part of the course of the Lena, these strange and fantastic formations emerge from the taiga. Stretching over 18 km, these red-brown limestone rocks take the form of columns, towers, arches, caves, castles from 70 to 100 m high. The Natural Park of the Lena Columns was founded in 1995 and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2012. It covers 1,387,000 ha and includes not only pillars and rocks, but also picturesque forests rich in flora and fauna located mainly on the part called Tukulan and an archaeological site of the Cambrian
