Borzia (30,000 inhabitants) 380 km south-east of Tchita is a station of the Transmandchourien (train n° 602Ч from Tchita, 8h30 trip). The town is a lively city: schools, cultural centres, libraries, cinemas, shops, hotels, hospitals, etc. Borzia is also famous for its farm where blue and silver foxes are bred. The agriculture is doing well, as well as the breeding of fine-fleece sheep that are kept on vast pastures. The writer A. Fadeev took part in the liberation of the town in 1920 as a commissioner of the Amurski regiment. He devoted several books to this period, including The Defeat.
