At the foot of Mont Canisy, the seaside resort of Blonville-sur-Mer was nicknamed the "children's paradise" at the beginning of the 20th century, due to the beauty of its 2 km-long beach of fine sand and its family atmosphere. Another must-see is the 110-hectare ecologically rich marshland. Despite its proximity to the sea, this freshwater marsh is fed by runoff from watersheds on the surrounding hillsides. Armed with a pair of binoculars and a little patience, you'll be able to observe protected species such as green treefrogs and storks, particularly in the early morning.
