Once Dépassé (Garde station) and Sosnovoborsk (Krasnoyarsk satellite town founded in 1971), Atamanovo is formed among the birch and pine trees. This village bears its history in its name, derived from the word ataman, designating a cossack leader: it was founded in 1632 by a certain Andrei Doubenski, the first Krasnoyarsk military governor. Escorted by a cossacks detachment, he left the North, along the river, at a time when Russians had much to do with native tribes, who were fiercely determined not to be settled. Ataman is also a name designating the largest and most dangerous of the rocks of the pass of the "Ataman pipe", the first narrowing of the river: the «Bull d'Ataman» (Atamanova Trouba), a place that requires the experience and know-how of the captain of the ship. After leaving the villages of Kamenogorsk-Kan, Kekour, Pavlovtchina and Yukseevo, the boat passes through the «pipe» of Predivinsk, a city known for its construction equipment plant.
