MUSEUM
This small, regional museum was created at the same time as that of N'Djamena in 1963, but faced with organizational difficulties, it opened its doors only in 1968. In the entrance hall is reproduced the man of Gonoa, astonishing rupestre cave of the Tibesti carved into the cliffs of ignimbrite (rock made up of acid lava lava, welded, derived from a burning cloud) of Enneri Gonoa, near Bardaï. In fact, it is 2 m high, and its head is covered with a hood.
There is also a collection of ankle and old currency bracelets. The ethnology hall contains some basketry and wood objects, as well as tools and pyrogravées gourds; The music room contains a balafon, koras, masks and dance dress and ngambaye. The archaeology hall displays antique weapons (reed or wood shields, jet knives and trident), a collection of stone carved stones (flint stones, grinding, axes…) and the objects of Sao, rabiste attire, as well as a cotte of moundang meshes.
