This island, 128 km long and only 6 km wide, is crossed by the Tropic of Cancer. It is located in the south-east of the Exumas archipelago. An island with a strong personality, it has two contrasting coasts. The west coast, under the wind, displays beautiful beaches dolentes, conducive to idleness, like that of the Cape Santa Maria, while the east coast, the rocky coast, rocky, rugged and cut, has cliffs that fall sharply into the sea, drawing caves that lose in the depths of the ocean. In the north, pentues hills are the landscape, while the south-east is gently wavy. Long island développée, Long Island offers centuries-old caves witness to pre-Columbian civilization, as well as picturesque villages, traditional churches and ruins of plantations, traces of the colonial period.
