This simple restaurant is run by Indians. Surprise: the menu is super-short, going against the grain of the usual coffee shops. Amjad is the local seafood specialist. This is the place to come for crab, king prawns, various Gulf fish and fish of the day cooked and prepared to order - grilled, fried, Indian-style, etc. You can even bring your own catch! 300 metres from the fort, run by an Iranian man and his wife, here is a real neighbourhood bistro-style restaurant: not too big, with personal touches in the decoration, the boss at the reception and the dishes simmering in the kitchen. In a cage whose doors are willingly opened at off-peak times, tamed budgies converse, that's the story. Why on earth would you come and eat in the parking lot of a petrol station, even when the station is located on the seafront, on the coastal road leading to Atana Khasab, at Bassa Beach and on the border of the Emirates? Because it is the best Yemeni restaurant in the area, the only one where you can enjoy a Mandi: this famous rice and spice dish with marinated chicken or beef.
