Travel Guide Saham

Saham is one of the most important cities south of Sohar. It too has its fort, called Hassin A'souq. To reach it, turn at the Saham junction then follow "A'souq" and go through the village. The road then follows the coast and arrives directly at the fort. Like many others, it has been renovated and is open to the public (8.30 am to 2.30 pm, closed Friday and Saturday; free entrance). Its layout is simple: square with 4 towers, themselves square at each corner. The entrance door faces the seafront and the interior houses a mosque. Before leaving Saham, visit the fish market on the beach.
