About fifteen kilometres before Barka, a road perpendicular to the main road and fringed with coconut palms runs to the sea. The beach of Sawadi is there, immense, bordered by several islets which create a rocky environment ideal for diving. The largest of these is dominated by a watchtower accessible on foot at low tide, provided you pay attention to the tide. The beach of Sawadi itself is very pleasant, covered with shells and very popular with locals on weekends. It is probably the most welcoming beach on the north coast, and above all a starting point for day trips to the Damaniyat Islands.
