Located 85 km from Muscat, this small fishing port deserves a stop for its atmosphere, its beautiful sandy beach and its nineteenth-century fort. It is divided into three neighborhoods: the modern city just at the entrance when you arrive from Muscat; the fishermen's hamlet of Sahel which is accessed by a small road that crosses the salt marshes; and the old district of Murrah that surrounds a palm grove. It is in these last two sectors that one will take the time to stroll and observe the fishermen; some are still equipped with makeshift boats. The tower in front of the beach, built on a small island, is accessible on foot at low tide.
