Founded in 1993, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, known for the quality of its services on board its Airbus 330s, connects Paris to Muscat by direct flight 5 days a week from Paris-CDG airport, with pre/post connections from the provinces (Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Toulouse). It also operates daily flights from Muscat to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for a combined Oman and United Arab Emirates service, and connects all the other airports in the sultanate, including Khasab and Salalah.

Large, bright, sober and chic, Muscat airport has cafes (possibility to order in advance online), stores (Duty Free), ATM, spa, car rental counters on the first floor... Domestic flights are operated by Oman Air and by the low cost company Salam Air. There are several routes: Muscat-Salah, Muscat-Khasab, Sohar-Salah, etc. To go to the city from the airport, you need to rent a car or take a cab (or a bus).

Salam Air is to the sultanate what Ryanair and Easy Jet are to Europe: a low-cost airline, with services to be customized (purchase or not of a meal tray, addition of baggage, etc.), but which allows you to fly at lower prices to certain countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Within the sultanate, Salam Air offers flights to the main cities, linking Muscat with Salalah, Sohar and Duqm. To date, it is also the only airline to offer flights to Masirah Island.
