Stretching along the Atlantic Ocean, 28 kilometres north of Porto and a good 20 kilometres from Braga, Póvoa de Varzim is a "city of leisure" thanks to its spaces and facilities. The Tourist Office has set up an 8-kilometre "Water and Bread" itinerary that allows visitors to appreciate the history of the town (historic centre, stage of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, centre of flax production, etc.). Its privileged location also allows you to make incursions into the Portuguese North-West: Porto, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Guimarães, Lima Bridge, Gerês... A nice stopover in any case.
