Housed in a modern, designer building, this museum presents exhibitions of ruins and archaeological finds from the Braga region. The collection ranges from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages. Of particular note are the Roman sepulchral stones that marked the Bracara Augusta road to Rome, as well as medieval burial finds. A good cafeteria, well known for its hearty Sunday buffet lunch, is on site.
