TASCA DA QUINTA

World cuisine restaurant

Certainly, the kitchen remains a matter of tradition... and to find a small restaurant of this quality is a rare thing! One feels at home, even more so when the owner's son hands us school notebooks on which are meticulously handwritten the tapas, petiscos and desserts available. The tables draped with the famous shawls dear to the Lisbon fado singers welcome Portuguese specialties but with a very personal touch. If you are visiting Peso da Regua, this is the place to dine.

PIZZERIA DON PEPPO

Portuguese restaurant
4/5

Don Peppo is a small Portuguese canteen very nice and cheap. The wine list is well chosen to accompany the thirty or so pizzas on offer. There are also pastas, salads or tapas that are shared in a very local atmosphere. The traditional desserts are well done, so save some room at the end of your meal. This establishment presents itself as the ideal place to recharge your batteries at a lower cost before or after visiting the Douro museum just next door. Very busy for lunch and dinner.

Housed in the buildings next to the railway station, Castas & Pratos has been making a name for itself for the past fifteen years. Part restaurant, part lounge, part wine tasting room, part wine shop, part delicatessen, the dimmed lights give a glimpse of walls covered with bottles of wine. Parquet flooring and beams frame a counter that can seat around thirty people on comfortable bar chairs. On the plate, priority is given to Douro products, cooked with passion. Impeccable service. The terrace is pleasant in fine weather.
