A cultural place initiated by former Coimbra students who have decided to come together to promote their common passion: fado. A very appreciable place, on the walls, with photos of all the fadists, known or unknown in Coimbra. A short hour of entertainment will allow you to discover this musical tradition. Video that traces the birth and origin of this fado, then gives way to musicians who play with soul and passion. At the end of the show, you can enjoy a very good Port in the small patio. Very pleasant musical moment.

Housed in a beautiful chapel, this space of local musical tradition with an exhibition room and video library offers nightly concerts of fado and guitar from Coimbra, certified of origin and controlled appellation. It is also possible (and recommended) to have a few petiscos/tapas and a good glass of wine before enjoying the atmosphere. An original experience in an unusual setting. Trendy café with a colorful and vintage decoration, a little bit outside the city center but worth the trip. It has a very pleasant garden terrace, one is in admiration of the magnificent view on the monastery and the city of Coimbra. Exhibitions of pictorial art and concerts are often held. You can nibble on tostas, enjoy good cocktails, natural juices or even a chocolate cake. Large selection of teas. Possibility to rent bicycles on the spot and to have a picnic prepared for a summer walk.

A unifying space for shows, thematic festivals, theatre or fado. A little bit of fast restoration, and no obligation to consume for a minimum amount as is usually the case in clubs and night bars.

Every evening we sing the Fado and Coimbra Fado. It is the oldest of the most recently renovated Fado houses in Coimbra. This can be seen at the walls of temporary exhibitions. Complicit clients. The regulars arrive around 22 h, do the same. You eat petiscos, or you can eat a bigger meal there. Attention also to the neighborhood, which is a little desert late in the evening.

In this Irish pub, you'll find excellent beers from all over the world. The pub is on 3 levels, and the top floor is beautifully decorated. It's the ideal place to watch a soccer match with friends or play a game of pool. Excellent francesinha to accompany drinks and homemade cheesecake. The waiters are friendly and if you don't like beer, the house cocktails are excellent. Very friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Live music some evenings. Pleasant terrace in summer.

This small bar-snack bar is located in the charming Republic Square, right next to the Santa Cruz Park and Gardens. The main customers of the place are students but everyone is welcome, at any time of the day. You can sit inside or on the terrace to have a drink, a cocktail or a coffee, accompanied by a hamburger, a toast, traditional petiscos (Coimbra tripe, fried egg, chicken legs...), a cod dish. For dessert: brownie, chocolate mousse, banana split... At very low prices.

You won't come to this café-brasserie for the rather ordinary setting but to eat or drink at any time of the day since they prepare breakfasts, lunches, snacks or dinners very early in the morning until late at night. Everything is homemade from the starter to the dessert. Tapas of octopus in entrance, bacalhau con nata or still doce de casa are part of the inescapable. Juice of pressed oranges. Its central location makes it the meeting point of students and musicians of the university. Perfect for a break during the visits.
