In the collection of fortified villages and castles that will leave you with real memories, the Evoramonte hill will hold a special place: built on one of the highest points of the Serra de Ossa, the castle is one of the most original in the country. It is a Renaissance fortress, a unique monument in the Portuguese military architecture. It has the shape of a regular quadrilateral with powerful circular turrets. The central pavilion is made of three floors, composed of monumental rooms with gothic vaults. Go up to the terrace to enjoy the view: on a clear day you can see all the way to Estremoz!
