This museum installed in the castle of Sines traces the history of the city from the archaeological remains.

Opened in 2008, this museum is located in the castle of Sines, in the hall of the military governors. It traces the history of the city through archaeological remains, including Visigothic stones of great interest. In the Torre de Menagem (Clock Tower), the house of Vasco da Gama traces the biography of the navigator. We discover the space where he lived in the castle and his contribution as a pioneer navigator around the world. From the ramparts, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.

Sines, its refineries are industrial port, its workers in blue, its lively water, wind in gust, that can cool at first sight!
But Sines it is also real people, a superb dimension, a beautiful castle which transforms during a festival into a high place of world music… FM Sines, probably my favourite Portuguese festival.
