Old town featuring a completely refurbished cathedral with bell tower, with a terrace offering panoramic views over Faro.

Enter via the Arco da Vila at the southern end of the marina. You lose yourself in the narrow, timeless streets until you come to the Largo da Sé, where Faro Cathedral has been enthroned amidst orange trees for centuries. Completely rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake, it is adorned with beautiful 17th-century azulejos. The only remaining Gothic vestige is the bell tower. Panoramic view of Faro from the bell tower terrace. Behind it, the old town hall and bishop's palace complete the picture of the historic center.

Pour entrer dans le centre historique et vieille ville de Faro, vous avez de magnifiques portes anciennes dont la porte arabe. En sus vous avez comme attraction, des nids de cigognes en son sommet avec ses oiseaux majestueux et pas du tout effarouchés. Ruelles à l'ombre et balade pédestre intéressante.

Joli centre ville historique. Au début du printemps, les orangers sont fournis en fruits et donnent de jolies couleurs a la ville.
Je recommande de s'y promener mais le tour du centre ville est assez rapide.

La vieille ville est très photogénique, on aime y flâner et déboucher sur la Ria Formosa au détour d'une ruelle! Avec un peu de chance, vous verrez des cigognes sur l'Arco da Vila.
