Its large sandy beach, a paradise for sand yachts, saw the British land at 7:25 a.m. on June 6, 1944, the first British regiment to set foot in Normandy that day! The war has somewhat disfigured "Asnelles-la-Belle-Plage", as it was known in the Belle Époque, when its villas and casino gave it the air of a little Trouville.
