ATLANTIC FERRIES

Boat and ferry

Ferries to Tróia, opening to Alentejo and Algarve, leave every 35 or 50 minutes day and night from the port of Setúbal, located near Avenida Todi. In summer, there are monster traffic jams every Friday and Sunday evening to come back. If you do not have a vehicle, we advise you to take the catamaran, faster and more frequent, it arrives directly in the marina (near the beaches). For the South, it is sometimes preferable to go around Alcácer do Sal, it is longer, but often a little faster!

GARE FERROVIAIRE

Train

From here, trains (Suburbano, Inter Regional and Inter Cidade) arrive from Barreiro (east of Almada, accessible from Lisbon by crossing the Tagus on the Transtejo ferry from Terreiro do Paço), either direct or serving local stations along the route. From Lisbon, you can take the Fertagus express train to Setúbal. It passes through Roma-Arreiro, Entre Campos and Sete Rios stations and takes 1 hour. This is the easiest and quickest way to get to Setúbal, unless you're already on the other side of the river.
