RESTAURANTE A RAPOSA

The vixen' s space is a little marvel to savor a refined tea of exotic origin while tasting excellent scones or pastries. Its very sophisticated and warm decoration is a mix of painted swallows and rosettes on the ceiling, a large chandelier with fancy dragonflies, a giant mirror, an old carpenter's workbench in the middle, rose petals and candles on the tables, a starry tiled floor... A unique and romantic atmosphere, with a background of jazz and world music or with the rhythm of a guitarist.

TAVERNA DOS TROVADORES

In a cobbled cul-de-sac, which becomes a sort of thirsty street in the evening, a local inn with small concerts of traditional Lusitanian music (on weekends) serving good traditional food. A local institution, the popular house of the sympathetic Fernando Pereira, a famous guitarist who accompanies the greats on tour, is worth points. Its summer terrace with a small stage, located in a rustic setting, proves to be very convivial, whether you are in a group or alone. Recommended for dinner rather than lunch.

SALLA DE ESTAR

Close to the station, on the other side of the railway line, this musical bar with terrace row in the evening (especially at weekends) a part of the alternative and intelligent fauna of Sintra. The decoration of this bar is quite eclectic with large frames on the wall and a motorcycle on the ceiling (don't ask why). In this setting nicely decorated and animated by artistic evenings with a varied musical background, trendy customers enjoy a beer (at a good price!) or a cocktail with friends. Possibility also to play a game of pool, a good way to create friendships.

FONTE DA PIPA

Bar and caf

This bar has been open since 1989! In a rather cosy setting with lounges, in the heart of the city, near the famous and superb Pipa fountain, the tables of friends chat while sipping cocktails and long drinks at rather affordable prices. Floor imitating the calçadas of the street and portraits of famous singers painted in black and white on the walls. This address is very popular on weekends, but much quieter during the week. Good to know, there is a non-smoking room and some darts games available.

ORIXÁS

Cafconcert

Towards Portela de Sintra (not far from the cultural centre) in Bairro Flores, the Casa Verger is a rather secluded space of 750 m 2 with its origins in São Paulo, Brazil. At the same time art gallery, a small museum of indigenous art, sculpture workshop and café-concert concert celebrations, it also serves, incidentally, the correct Brazilian cuisine. It will be wise to find out about the scheduled evenings and the possibility to get a cocktail at the end of the evening.

CAFÉ DA NATÁLIA

Coffee shop and tea room

In a little hidden street next to the Toca do Javali restaurant, this old-fashioned tearoom is well known for the quality of its products and the friendliness of its all-female staff, whether for breakfast, lunch or a light snack. As well as offering a good range of pastries, sandwiches and snacks, it's a great place to have lunch, either in a welcoming dining room or on a pleasant terrace, with a successful octopus salad preceding a delicious cooked codfish. Very popular on weekends.
