Fun and entertainment Ericeira

This is one of the must-see places in Ericeira. A big part of the night life happens here, for sure! Of course with this breathtaking view on the sunset, we are conquered. This beach bar is attached to the hotel You and The Sea and the restaurant Jangada. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy on the spot the food prepared by this last one. DJ sets are organized regularly and, icing on the cake, the artist Bordalo II decorated the place with his impressive sculptures made of various materials found in the street.

This is Fernanda's bar, the oldest bar in town also known as Bar da Cher. The entrance is surrounded by plants that frame the door. The space is not very big but we like the atmosphere of former days which emerges from it. It is a bar of regulars above all but it welcomes everyone. Here, we are far from the bars frequented by nomadic workers. It is a place which knew to keep its authenticity. All its history hangs on the walls: frames, photos of customers. It is really one of the emblematic places of Ericeira.

In the evening, the place presents small concerts or musical atmospheres (latin, pop-rock, reggae, disco).

Ippolito & Maciste, just like the names of the two dogs (a Boston terrier and a dachshund) of original owners Marco and Thomas. Since then, the family has grown to include a little dachshund called Marcel, owned by Brice, the sommelier. What Ericeira lacked was a wine bar where you could meet up and taste natural wines, seated at a large table for greater conviviality. There's also a food menu with tapas dishes. Tastings are sometimes organized. We love the decor, with its many green plants.

It is THE seaside bar, with its wooden counter, its entrance embellished by a street art fresco representing a wave (what could be more normal in Ericeira, one of the world's surfing capitals). It can be seen from a distance because it is located at the corner of a street. Atmosphere guaranteed in the evening, especially on weekends. You can choose from beers, cocktails and wines, including a fairly extensive gins list. If you like, there is even a small place to dance to the sound of the DJ set (sometimes the musical choices are not so great).

Imagine yourself facing the ocean, enjoying a coffee and an ouriço (the famous local sweet), while watching people come and go along the waterfront. That's what you can do when you visit Casa da Fernanda, opposite the Praia dos Pescadores. This bar-café is one of Ericeira's institutions, and one of the places where you'll find the city's best ouriços. And if you like, you can opt for a box of six to take away and eat them directly on the beach, a little further down the road.
