Located just before the famous Guincho beach, home to surfers and surfers, this address offers a wide variety of fish (depending on the arrival of the day) and seafood. In an elegant setting and a hushed atmosphere, you can enjoy seafood products, in front of large bay windows overlooking the ocean. We recommend the langoustine carpaccio as an appetizer, which perfectly combines the flavours of citrus fruits and shellfish. A real delight! The wine list presents an unusual selection to discover Portuguese wines.

From its large bay windows or from its terrace, the view is breathtaking! Inside, the atmosphere is trendy and relaxed. Start with an aperitif at the bar and admire the beautiful examples of 19th century azulejos. In the kitchen, you will be able to taste dishes made with local products: Algarve oysters, fried prawns with garlic, chilli and rosemary, "brás" (a slice of fresh cod), pork cheeks (with a spoon) with mashed celery... To accompany this, a selection of 48 of Portugal's best wines is offered by the glass.

Climbing up this street that once housed the old court, a small family restaurant well hidden and unpretentious run by Gina, but still well referenced by Portuguese gourmets. On the wall of a small room that only regulars know, rows of good bottles ordered in white stucco niches. On the menu are: fried prawns with garlic, cuttlefish cassoulet, veal chops, fresh grilled fish and fruit salad or sweets of the day. In the kitchen, we know how to do it! Muito bom!

Here's an improbably tiny family restaurant! Beware: CURIOSITY! For more than 40 years, north of Cascais, it has resembled an Ali Baba's cave, its walls and ceilings covered with an incredible bric-a-brac: clocks, cauldrons, copperware, knick-knacks, antiques and brocante. The cuisine is grandmotherly, and the grilled meats are truly excellent. One of the house specialties: wild boar(javali) with gambas in a garlic tomato sauce, served on a heated tile. A little wonder in the middle of nowhere!

CANTINA CLANDESTINA

Portuguese restaurant

The name of this restaurant is clandestine, but it has become a must in Cascais. Especially if you are a fan of seafood. On the menu in this establishment: sandwiches like focaccias, bruschettas or salads. In the evening, you can also opt for a nice seafood table to share with friends. The octopus carpaccio is also a great success. Located in a small street called rua Amarela, the establishment has its cousin, Taberna Clandestina, just across the street for a drink.

This "tavern" was created by three friends who travelled a lot. They wanted a place, like in the old days, where travellers could stop and rest while eating and drinking. On the facade, a small painting set reproduces the night lighting. Inside, there is a warm atmosphere with a wooden decoration and bottles on the wall. On the menu, dishes to share with friends or passing travelers. There are delicatessen and cheese tables, and even a table for vegetarians. The portions are rather generous.
