It is THE party not to be missed in Lisbon. Saint Anthony is celebrated throughout the month to the sound of popular music.
It is the celebration of Saint Anthony (whose date is June 12). On the day of the celebration, expect a lot of confusion in the streets of the city, which are totally transformed with multicolored garlands. The streets come alive with popular music, beer flows freely and sardines are grilled on improvised barbecues. There is also a big parade on the Avenida da Liberdade that is not to be missed (arrive very early). The rest of the month, smaller events take place.
