The piece of meat is grilled before being bathed in a sauce made with lots of butter and fresh cream!

The menu changes regularly but you will find local specialities. With fresh products, a very good combination of original and varied flavours in a set of typically Portuguese market preparations bound: ovos mexidos com alheira (scrambled eggs with sausage)... A word of advice: book because it always displays full.

Baked or grilled specialties and typical Portuguese or even international dishes will fill the plates of languorous tête-à-tête. This former industrial building has retained some of its spirit, all in a very contemporary, bohemian decor. A different concept, isn't it? Creative cuisine based on quality Portuguese products.
AS VELHAS
Read moreAs Velhas means "the old ones" in Portuguese. In this establishment, the decor consists mainly of paintings and statues of elderly people (famous or not). As for the name, it comes from the two women who used to do the cooking. In a delicate setting under a beamed ceiling, you can feel that the dishes are prepared with care: cataplana de peixe, bacalhau no forno à minhota and rojões à transmontana and then a few delicacies to finish off. A must for all gourmets.

We eat typical Portuguese dishes, monkfish with a shrimp sauce for example, and good starters such as homemade sardine pate. As a decoration, jewellery, paintings, etc. are on display. A restaurant where you feel good, perfect for a dinner for two or just for a quiet dinner. Avoid coming unexpectedly if you want to be sure you have a place.

A traditional Portuguese cuisine, good simple dishes combining flavours and freshness. Some specialities like " Rissóis de mariscos" (seafood fritters) and Portuguese style pork liver with onion sauce. The prices are very affordable and the large terrace is very pleasant when the sun is shining. A restaurant well frequented by Lisboners, often full in the evening...
