Maassluis means "lock on the Meuse" and the name of this South Holland village announces the program, water is predominant! What a pleasure to stroll, on foot or by boat, in the center of this small picturesque town, crossed by peaceful waterways! For water is a dominant element here. Maassluis has just under 35,000 inhabitants and is part of the Rotterdam-The Hague agglomeration. In the 19th century, the town was distinguished by its fishing industry and it is no coincidence that a fishing and marine museum is located here. In the 17th century, the city was home to a Jewish community, which left the city around 1890
