If you're in the mood for Kyoto, Amstelveen is the place to go. This address, between a shopping center and a busy street, may seem unlikely. The restaurant is accessed via a small (Japanese) garden and pretty flagstones. The atmosphere is very successful and the audience includes many Japanese, which is always a good sign. The cuisine is super-fresh and the wood-panelled setting very warm. The sushi is excellent, but let us recommend all the dishes. Izakaya is the ideal address after a visit to the Cobra Museum.

It would be a real shame not to discover this quality restaurant in Amstelveen, nicknamed the "superchinese" by some regulars and located on a pretty street. Although prices are higher than in most of Amsterdam's Chinese restaurants, so are the services. The atmosphere is one of hushed luxury, with a superb wall depicting the Shanghai skyline. The service is efficient and friendly, and the waitresses, all dressed in beautiful, colorful outfits, add a touch of local color to your meal.
