A museum that displays a collection of embryos and anatomical specimens assembled by Gerardus Vrolik and his son
This museum is a rare gem. It's called the Museum of the Human Body, and it's not by chance that it's located outside the center of town, within the Faculty of Medicine (AMC Hospital). It features a collection of embryos and anatomical specimens assembled by professor Gerardus Vrolik (1775-1859) and his son Willem Vrolik (1801-1863). The collection is constantly growing, with over 10,000 specimens, including Siamese and Cyclops. There are also 150 preparations with congenital malformations. Not recommended for pregnant women.
