The Netherlands is a nation of festivals and this one is historically a reference. It is not in Amsterdam itself, but not far away the festival of Ruigoord is held every year. This small town near Amsterdam, once an island, hosts a nice festival every year on June 21, with great concerts and popular dances that are sometimes worth a visit. The atmosphere is pleasant and very pure and the performances varied. Note: in addition to the Solstice festival, another festival, Landjuweel, takes place in August every year.
