A very good, atypical address in the east of the city. Surrounded by greenery and housed in a classic, luxurious mansion, you won't think you're in Amsterdam at all. The establishment practices slow food and favors organic and local ingredients in keeping with the seasons. The terrace, vast and pleasant, is conducive to daydreaming and makes Merkelbach a place of rare elegance. The menu is concise and efficient, and you're sure to find something to your liking. It's a great place to take a breather after museum visits.
