Kosi Bay is a series of four interconnected lakes that flow into the ocean. The nature reserve encompasses the lake system, the coastal strip and the land up to the Mozambican border, covering 11,000 ha. This very wild area in the far north-east of South Africa attracts many amateur fishermen, hikers and swimmers. Some spots are more suitable for swimming than others, so don't hesitate to ask as there are no anti-shark nets and the currents can be dangerous. The Natal Parks Office has installed a sea turtle observation centre. This is where they nest. It's magical
