At the end of the last century, a lady agreed to marry a man on the condition that he take her to live in the wilderness, . So the lucky man bought a piece of land around here! Today, it is a very pleasant little resort, on the edge of a huge sandy beach. Unfortunately, swimming is a bit dangerous. In summer, everyone goes to Victoria Bay, the neighbouring cove, the locals' favourite beach where it is possible to take a dip. The lakes formed by the Touw River make up the Wilderness National Park. There are refreshing little hiking trails and even accommodations by the water.
