Not far from Cape Town, about a 35 minute drive on the N2, the town of Wellington is known for its vineyards and the beauty of its landscape with Groenberg Mountain in the background. Here too, the Huguenots are known to have been the first inhabitants of the town and its surrounding area in the 17th century. This small, quiet town nestled between the mountains and the vineyards has made the latter its main economy. The town is not lacking in charm, with its beautiful white church and its many vineyards located on the R44 at the foot of the mountain which are worth a visit, both for the view and for the wine tasting
