A border town of nearly 17,000 inhabitants, Tuy is a medieval city with a cathedral that looks like a feudal castle. The building, erected in the 13th century during the era of pilgrimages, has a portal sculpted with apostles and prophets, reminiscent of the portal of the Glory of Santiago. The silent streets surrounding the cathedral wind between old houses, churches and convents that stretch to the banks of the Miño. Following the course of the Miño River, you will discover the 18th-century Moreira, Almuiña and Pombeiros mansions. On July 29, at the hermitage of San José de Ribarteme de As Neves (the previous village), an unusual procession of coffins is celebrated. About 7 km away, the Monte Aloia Natural Park offers beautiful walks full of legends, in the heart of a green nature
