Located between the ria de Treto and the bay of Santoña, halfway between Bilbao and Santander, Laredo combines history and tourism, with its tiny medieval historical center and its beaches, among the most beautiful in Spain. Of particular note is the Salvé beach with its 4 km of fine sand. In the old town, the Calle Mayor is the most animated street. You will also appreciate its beautiful buildings built between the 16th and 18th centuries, such as the Marquise de Arcentales' house, as well as its magnificent Gothic style church with a superb altarpiece. On the other hand, avoid the new town, rather concrete and depressing.
