MUSEO OTEIZA

This exciting museum, located 10 km from the centre of Pamplona, houses the collections of the Basque sculptor Jorge Oteiza (1908-2003), a great figure of 20th century art. The museum is housed in his former house-studio, which has a large contemporary annex designed by the architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza. Oteiza's complex work, which culminates in the famous "metaphysical boxes", is rather hermetic for non-specialists, so it is advisable to take part in the guided tour so as not to miss the essence of Oteiza's genius.
