Haunted by the memory of Queen Margot, who resided here for twenty years, there is no longer any trace of the powerful citadel mentioned by Guillaume de Revel in his armorial. The partly Romanesque church, dedicated to Saint Maurice, boasts two exceptional paintings, one by the Flemish school and the other by the painter Deutsch. You've got to admire them! The village clings to the side of its volcanic mound, on the path leading to the summit and its 14-metre-high Virgin Mary. Here, a wall of basalt organs offers a stunning 360-degree view of the region. Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful villages in the Puy-de-Dôme!
