Mansion built for Isabel the Catholic, now inhabited by twenty monks in Burgos
Surrounded by a wooded park, wide and sober, this admirable residence was built for Isabella the Catholic. The roofs of her church are decorated with fine figurines. Its main treasure is the sculpted ensemble of the apse of the church, executed at the end of the 15th century by the Flemish Gil de Siloé. The three masterpieces of his work can be admired there: the polychrome wooden altarpiece, the royal mausoleum in white marble and the admirably decorated burial chamber housing the tomb of the infanta Alphonse. Today it is inhabited by about twenty monks.

Completely admirable square, built indeed by Isabel the catholic, his parents John II and Isabelle de Portugal are buried here. The coffin of the couple is a masterpiece, the altar is also admirable and if you want it, do not deprive photograph, it is allowed, CD-ROM on the history of this Charterhouse is very interesting, alcohol " the chartreuse" comes from France, Grenoble. There is no guide but the managers vending desk entrance replace them admirably. The visit is peaceful, because few tourists.
