Gialos, 5 kilometers west of Paleohora, has developed over the last ten years around the thermokipoi, tomato greenhouses where many immigrants come to work by the day. Not so long ago, the only access to get there was a bad dirt road used by pick-up trucks and old Greeks on their donkeys. Today the village has developed. There is even a supermarket and a gas station in the center of the village.
