Nestled on the slopes of the Bois Noirs, Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle is a perfect base for hiking and nature lovers: the village is the starting point for numerous trails. Contrary to its name, the Durolle does not flow through the village. It does, however, boast an artificial lake, the plan d'eau des Prades. Its leisure center is ideal for water sports such as paddleboarding and canoeing. Mountain biking, train rides and mini-karts are also available nearby. History and architecture buffs will appreciate the 15th-century Gothic church and the treasures it contains (frescoes, statues, paintings).
