Colonial residence located a few steps from downtown, with very spacious and clean rooms with king size beds

This colonial residence has 25 very spacious and clean rooms with king size beds. It is located in a beautiful building dating from 1904 and is run by Vincent, a Frenchman who knows San José and Costa Rica like the back of his hand. It's a very good place to stay when you arrive in Costa Rica, close to the city center (possibility of airport transfer). You will be welcomed by a friendly, professional and French-speaking team, who will help you and advise you on the activities to do in the area or in the country (possible tours).

Las habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado pero si ventilador, la nuestra tenia baño privado. Muy sencillo todo, a 8 cuadras del centro.

Nos alojamos en este hostel varias veces, es muy práctico. Tiene lugar para estación y es amplio. La gente es amable y el lugar es muy tranquilo. Las camas son cómodas y el baño está muy limpio. Siempre hay café y agua caliente para té, además de una heladera en recepción con bebidas y una sala de tv. Lo recomiendo para pasar unas noches en la ciudad.

Hostel liegt gut und man ist zu Fuß ein ca. 15 Minuten im Zentrum. Man fühlt sich jederzeit sicher. Personal ist sehr freundlich und das WLAN ist gut. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist okay. Das Zimmer ist günstig, allerdings leider auch sehr hellhörig. Man hört jeden Schritt, jedes Wort etc. was außerhalb des Zimmers passiert. Gerade abends bzw. morgens sehr störend. Die Zimmer sind auch etwas karg eingerichtet, was aber an sich nicht schlimm ist. Ich würde deshalb insgesamt 3,5 Sterne geben

I book a King bedroom with a private bathroom. After a long trip I was ready to sleep- unfortunately, all the rooms were booked out. How was I able to book a room when it was booked out?
Then they offered me a dorm room. Keep in mind, the rooms were MORE expensive to hook in person at the hotel than on Booking, or any other third-party venue.
They didn't care and they didn't apologize. I wasted money on an Uber to get there from the airport after a long travelling day only to find out I couldn't check in. Then I had to get another Uber to go to a different hotels.
A complete waste of money!
