Built in 1880, the Mercado Central is one of the busiest in the capital. This local covered market is without a doubt the best place to eat traditional food at low prices, thanks to the many sodas on site. A stop at Soda Tipia, one of the oldest in the city, opened in 1893, is a must. For the best ice cream in the capital, go to the Sorbetera de Lolo Mora, which has been making it for over a hundred years. You can also visit the Mercado Borbón, a food market near the Mercado Central.

Bouffe simple et rapide au soda San Martin dans le marché central. L'ensemble, jus et mets ne coûtent vraiment pas cher.

Allez faire un tour au marche central , c est vivant ça grouille vous découvrez les nombreuses echoppes ,nous y étions avant Noel il y avait plein de décorations et de crèches de Noel !Et si vous avez faim installez vous dans un soda au mileu des Costa Ricains ! Il y a un vendeur de café en vrac avec du café de qualité ,cela fait d excellents cadeaux ,il vend aussi des très beaux sacs de café usagés a 2 à 1000 colones et 3000 neufs !

On peut trouver plusieurs "sodas" dans le marché central. Elles proposent divers plats dont les principaux: gallo pinto, casado et olla de carne. J'y suis allée plusieurs fois durant l'année 2016-2017. Repas copieux!
