Mount Emei is one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism. At the attraction of the natural site, protected zone housing more than 2 000 species of animals, it is therefore the cultural interest of a Buddhist pilgrimage. The original temples of Mount Emei date back to the th century. But the time, the Cultural Revolution and the fires have virtually wiped out the original structures. The monastery of the Golden Summit, the ultimate goal of the pilgrims, was completely rebuilt a few years ago after a devastating fire. The entire site was also classified as the World heritage of Mankind in 1992.From the top of its 3 099 m, it still offers an impressive view of the valley and the surrounding cliffs, especially in the golden light of sunrise.
