The road between Cuglieri and Santu Lussurgiu crosses a tormented massif covered with maquis. The village of Santu Lussurgiu, clinging to the side of Mount Ferru, is one of the jewels of Sardinian urbanism. It is easy to get lost in its alleys and passages, but what a pleasure to stroll around! The Renaissance church of Santa Maria degli Angeli is surrounded by 18th century buildings. The very pink church of San Pietro watches over the oldest part of the city. It is famous for the production of Sardinian knives and for the passion of its inhabitants for horse riding. The town was built on an extinct volcano, emptied by water erosion.
