Bridport is a small coastal town on Anderson Bay, 70 km north of Launceston. Settled in 1830, the town enjoyed a period of prosperity in the 1860s after gold was found in the area. Today, Bridport is not only a holiday resort with beautiful beaches, but also the departure point for ferries and boats to Flinders Island. Bridport boasts two renowned golf courses: Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm. Both courses have been designed with the highest standards in mind. Note that the streets in the northern part of the town are named after men, while those in the southern part are named after women.
