Located in the heart of the Huon Valley and 38 kilometers south of Hobart, Huon is the largest center in the southern region. The small town is situated on farmland in a lush landscape. Surrounded by orchards, farms and mountains, it is also an area historically known for growing Tasmanian apples. Other local produce includes salmon, honey, mushrooms, stone fruits, pears, olives, saffron, wines and lots of cider. The town is an ideal starting point for exploring the southernmost part of Tasmania: you can stock up on supplies before exploring the south of the island.
