Travel Guide Skyrail

Skyrail is the first rainforest funicular in the rain forest: a world first (www.skyrail.com.au). It allows you to discover the tropical forests of world heritage, far from roads and parking, noise and dust. The funicular runs under the canopy of the trees between Smithfield and Kuranda with two stops during the journey. With 7,5 km, it is the longest and most environmentally-friendly cable car in the world. Its development did not lead to any construction of new roads, as did its exploitation. All materials were transported by helicopter. All "stations" have been arranged in existing clearings and cannot be visualized on the other side of the gorge. By taking your place, prefer the ravin side on the mountain side.
