Coffs Harbour is located on the Banana Coast, named after the many banana plantations found there. It is a large seaside resort of 76,000 inhabitants, with beautiful beaches to the north and surrounded by numerous national parks and marine reserves. It is the starting point for rafting trips on the Nymboida River, but also a diving spot. Coffs has the largest wooden pier in the state from which to jump, a tradition that has stood the test of time. There is no tourist information office, just an information desk at the Dolphin Marine Magic on Orlando Street or at the Park Beach Plaza
