Windsor, established like Richmond in 1794, is a historic town that stretches along the Hawkesbury River and has retained a certain charm thanks to its old buildings. These include the Macquarie Arms Hotel (1815), The Courthouse (1822) and St. Matthew's Anglican Church (1841), all of which are close to the bustling and largely pedestrianized main street. In 2008, the Hawksbury Regional Museum was opened to showcase the history of the town and region. From Windsor, it is possible to reach the Hunter Valley by Wisemans Ferry (and its free ferry) via a very picturesque road, the Tourist Drive 15
