CLAIRE'S KITCHEN AT LE SALON

French cuisine restaurant €€
4.8/5
4 reviews

Claire's Kitchen skilfully combines traditional French brasserie with modern, refined cuisine. The cocktails are sophisticated and original. The restaurant team provides impeccable, attentive service in French in a warm, chic setting. The dessert cart will not leave you indifferent. If you're in Sydney on a Sunday evening, book Salon Dada for an evening of cabaret and surrealistic dining, which we'd rather let you discover.

MAMAK

Indonesian restaurant €€
5/5
1 review

Mamak refers to the stalls found in Malaysia, serving stews, vegetables, fried fish etc. Mamak offers the opportunity to see two of the most impressive cooking shows: the making of teh tarik and roti canai. Teh tarik is a sweet milk tea, which is spilled from one pot to another by pulling it almost a meter long through the air. The roti canai is a dough that is kneaded and then turned from one hand to the other so that it becomes a huge circle of thin dough before being toasted on a pan.

BISTRO PAPILLON

5/5
1 review

In the heart of Sydney, Bistro Papillon is a tasty French restaurant with a beautiful wine list. Fine selection of French cuisine with specialties such as raclette, onion soup, coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, cassoulet, fourme d'Ambert, profiteroles... All the classics! And of course, as a starter, the unavoidable baguette of bread and its semi-salted butter, or the plate of cold cuts. Some vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. An excellent address for those nostalgic for France and its gastronomy.

1 review

A Watsons Bay landmark, Doyle's on the Beach is a family-owned restaurant that opened in 1885 and the same family (Doyle's) continues to serve seafood from generation to generation. Located in the heart of a park that is both policed and wild, just yards from the beach and the water, it is one of the most romantic places in town. Try the delicious paella! For those who come from the city center, you can get there by ferry.

THE GLENMORE

Australian restaurant €€
4/5
1 review

A real institution in Sydney since 1921, this old renovated pub is one of the last buildings to have survived the era before the construction of the Harbour Bridge on Cumberland Street. The food is what you would expect from this type of establishment: rather classic but hearty. Wide range of beers on tap. What sets the Glenmore apart from any other place in the Rocks is that you have one of the best views of Sydney Harbour from its rooftop terrace. Busy rooftop.

INFINITY AT SYDNEY TOWER

Panoramic restaurant €€€
3.5/5
2 reviews

Mahogany wood, chandeliers, chocolate brown leather banquettes, chiseled bronze, a gigantic glass wall for a 360-degree view of Sydney. The breathtaking view at night gives it a false reputation as a tourist trap, but this extravagant restaurant offers a remarkable menu crafted by renowned chefs who rely on seasonal produce to create a menu that skillfully combines traditional flavors with a French influence. From this vantage point during the day, you can easily see the Blue Mountains.

Thai Riffic is a Thai restaurant chain, so there are several in Sydney, including Cronulla and North Sydney. However, this address in Newtown is our favorite. The dishes are very good and spicy. WOOLLY BAY HOTEL

Australian restaurant €€

A little way from downtown and Potts Point, the Wooloomooloo district nevertheless offers a number of pleasant restaurants. The Woolly Bay Hotel (formerly the Wooloomooloo Hotel) is located opposite the Finger Wharf (with higher-priced restaurants). You'll appreciate the quiet atmosphere on the first floor. This is where the main courses (burgers, pizzas, salads) are served, and they're all very good. For more delicate dishes, served as cocktails, you can head to the top level. The rooftop there is extremely inviting.

A small Japanese restaurant in the heart of Kings Cross, offering a pleasant break in the middle of this busy district. It's part of a chain that you'll find elsewhere in the city. A Malaysian laksa assam, the kway kway Singapore, a soup tom khar hai Thai, etc. This is not the choice that is missing.

The most coveted vantage point for watching the surfers on Bondi Beach. This restaurant literally seems to plunge into the sea, overlooking the ocean like no other in Sydney.
